Regardless of our beliefs, AI is here to stay and most likely already exists in our schools. In this session, we’ll explore specific examples of how AI currently impacts our classrooms, useful tools, what the future holds, and what educators should do to adapt. We’ll discuss concerns surrounding assessment, ethics, academic integrity, school policy, internet safety, and educational opportunity, as well as AI’s awesome potential for personalized learning and beyond.
An informative and inspirational talk covering the impact technology has had on education (both good and bad), what the future of education looks like – including a deep dive into Artificial Intelligence – and why it’s more important than ever to teach and lead from the heart.
This interactive session covers the most recent developments in the AI in education landscape, including research, policy updates, news, innovative tools, and more. We also explore suggestions for (and examples of) AI policy formation and discuss practical steps schools can take to empower their staff, students, and school community through this fast moving space, such as 1) embracing AI literacy for all, 2) implementing a clear and transparent AI policy, and 3) rethinking assessments and assignments to adapt to new standards of student achievement.
In an era where artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping education, school leaders must develop clear, comprehensive AI policies that promote equity, provide clarity, and offer meaningful guidance for their school communities. This interactive workshop will outline the essential components of an effective AI policy and address key considerations such as data privacy, academic integrity, ethical use, and instructional innovation. Participants will collaborate to draft foundational elements of an AI policy tailored to their unique contexts, ensuring that all stakeholders—educators, students, and families—feel informed, empowered, and supported as they navigate this transformative landscape.
Similar to the advent of the calculator, AI is drastically altering what students are capable of. In this session, we will explore how teachers can embrace a new era of student achievement, such as strategies for “AI-Proofing” assignments, assigning multi-modal tasks, flipping the classroom, emphasizing process over product, using authentic, high-order thinking tasks, and more. Participants can expect to walk away with concrete examples, resources, and strategies to help them revolutionize their practice.
